• Work with the Public Works Director and Parks and Recreation Manager to provide <br /> recommendations for the City trail and sidewalk <br /> reconstruction/rehabilitation/maintenance CIP. Maintain ICON pavement rating <br /> system for trails. Assist the Parks and Recreation Manager with grant applications <br /> for trail improvements. <br /> • Responds to engineering related inquiries from general public and City staff. <br /> • Develop and maintain a City Specification and Standard Details for use on City CIP <br /> projects. <br /> • Assist Public Works Director with managing and reviewing consultant services. <br /> • Annually assist the Public Works Director in preparation of a five-year CIP (where <br /> possible, a ten-year CIP shall be maintained, i.e., seal coating, sewer lining, and <br /> equipment). <br /> • Work with the Public Works Department and Public Works Superintendent to <br /> develop, manage, and maintain a records retention plan for engineering and <br /> maintenance information. <br /> • Function as the City's contact/liaison for GIS mapping and record retention. Ability <br /> to make minor changes to the City's GIS maps utilizing ArcView software and to <br /> produce maps as requested. <br /> • Performs such other duties as are consistent with the tasks of the position and as <br /> may be assigned. <br /> QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties <br /> satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with <br /> disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br /> • Minimum job requirements are a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or related <br /> field. Five (5) to seven (7) years progressively responsible skilled engineering <br /> experience, preferably in the public sector and ability to obtain registration as a <br /> Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Minnesota within six (6) months of <br /> employment. <br /> • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. <br />
