CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Henry called the April 17, 2007 meeting of the Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee to order at <br />7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br /> Committee Chair Bill Henry, Committee Members Jim Crassweller, Lanny <br />Baumann, Rich Straumann, Roger Williams, Steve Zilmer. <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: <br /> Michelle Olson, Park and Recreation Manager; and Dave McClung, City Council <br />Liaison. <br /> <br />MEMBERS NOT PRESENT: <br /> <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: <br /> <br />MOTION: Committee Member Straumann motioned, seconded by Committee Member Zilmer to <br />approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – March 20, 2007 <br /> <br />MOTION: Committee Member Williams motioned, seconded by Committee Member Straumann to <br />approve the minutes as presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. COUNCIL UPDATE <br />Council Liaison McClung provided the following update: <br /> <br />th <br />1. At the March 26 meeting, the Council: <br /> <br /> Awarded the 2007 Pavement Management Program. <br /> <br /> Approved a Resolution regarding the transfer of the TCAAP wildlife corridor and athletic <br />fields. <br />th <br />2. At the April 9 meeting: <br /> <br /> The cost and assessments for the 2007 PMP were declared. <br /> <br /> The Council approved consulting services with Kennedy & Graven Chartered, LLC relating to <br />the preparation of the TCAAP Master Development Agreement. <br /> <br /> The Council approved consulting services with Michael Commodes of Spencer Fane Britt and <br />Browne, LLP, relating to the preparation of the TCAAP transfer. <br /> <br /> Arden Hills Association III signed a short term exclusive use agreement for use of the Sheehy <br />tennis courts. <br /> <br />5. PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION UPDATE <br />Ms. Olson provided the following update: <br /> <br /> Public Works staff is currently short one employee who is out on workers comp. <br /> <br /> The new tanker in the CIP will be going to the Council for bid approval. <br /> <br /> Ms. Olson and Mr. Hoag are currently hiring for public works and recreation seasonal positions. <br />th <br /> The deadline for the Friends of the Park tree donation is April 18. <br /> <br /> The City was not awarded the Safe Routes to School Grant. The next opportunity to apply would <br />be in late August/early September. <br /> <br />
