ONGOING
KELLER GOLF COURSE PROPOSAL
The Keller Golf Course and Clubhouse need substantial updating. The current Clubhouse is an
older facility that has been adapted over the years but is undersized and unable to compete with
other local golf courses. The current kitchen is inadequate for catering and there is inadequate
seating capacity for larger groups and tournament activities. The vision for a new clubhouse would
be 22,000 square feet in size, seating for 350, a separate snack bar area, ability to hold concurrent
events and increased parking capacity. The estimated cost for this type of clubhouse is $7 million.
Golf course improvements are estimated at $3 million. The funding is proposed to be phased over
two years: Consulting fees (Phase 1) are estimated at $650,000. It is likely that the golf course
would be closed during construction which would result in lost revenue.
Ms. Falkowski moved, seconded by Ms. Petersen, that the Commission recommends
support for the Keller Golf Course/Clubhouse redevelopment proposal. Motion carried.
PROPOSED ENCROACHMENT ORDINANCE
lohn Moriarty was present at this meeting to discuss the proposed encroachment ordinance.
