B-2 District—Corridor Advisory Committee
Community Development Director Hutmacher stated work was beginning on the B-2 :District
Implementation Plan. At a January work session the Council discussed the appointments to the
Corridor Advisory Committee(CAC) for the B-2 Implementation Plan. This group would consist
of some property and business owners in the B-2 district, along with some City Council and staff
members.
Community Development Director Hutmacher indicated the purpose of the committee would
be to provide stakeholder involvement in the planning process while creating transparent decision
making. Recommendations from the committee would be passed along to the City Council. She
explained the Council directed staff to cast a wide net in seeking committee members. All
property owners in the district were visited or contacted and eight applications were submitted
from the business community.
Community Development Director Hutmacher listed the business owners interested in serving
on the committee. Bolton & Menk originally suggested that three to five property owners be
appointed to the CAC, however, the larger number of business representatives would be
acceptable. The first CAC meeting would be scheduled for late March or early April.
Councilmember Holmes asked if any date and time was specified for the CAC meetings.
Community Development Director Hutmacher stated meeting dates and times have not been
determined. The meetings would be held during the work day and would be scheduled after the
CAC appointments were made.
Councilmember Holden requested that each business be allowed to have an alternate.
