� <br />EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />SUBJECT: <br />February 13, 2012 <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br />Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br />Assistant City Engineer Appointment <br />Background <br />As you know, the selection process for the Assistant City Engineer position has been <br />moving forward over the last month or sa <br />Staff interviewed five finalists for the position on January 31, 2012. Second interviews <br />were conducted on February 6th. As a result of these interviews, staff is recommending <br />that the City Council appoint John Anderson as the Arden Hills Assistant City Engineer. <br />John is a registered Engineer and has extensive civil engineering and municipal public <br />works experience. Attached for your information is John's cover letter and resume. <br />A background check has been completed and the results are satisfactory. <br />The recommendation of staff is to place John at Step 2 in Pay Grade 10. John is available <br />to start work on March 12, 2012. <br />Action Requested <br />Motion to approve the hiring of John Anderson as the Arden Hills Assistant City <br />Engineer at Grade 10, Step 2($70,999) of the City Compensation Program. <br />
