County Road E are <br /> providing the following responses to the proposed zoning code changes for multi-family dwelling <br /> units. <br /> Based upon the proposed regulations it is obvious and clear that the regulations are targeted <br /> and conceived substantially to prohibit and inhibit the apartment redevelopment that was <br /> proposed to the City of Arden Hills under PC12-009. Please keep in mind that redevelopment <br /> of an existing property is very different from that of a newly constructed property and the <br /> suggested design changes incorporated herein make redevelopment of an existing property <br /> impossible. <br /> Subd. 1 Minimum unit size. 600 SF plus 100 SF for each bedroom. <br /> Arden Hills staff is proposing minimum unit sizes in violation of the State Building <br /> Code which provides for a minimum unit size of 220 SF. Why staff is <br /> reel ommending this despite recent MN Supreme Court ruling is unclear. <br /> Subd. 2 Security Plan. Complete security plan submitted at time of proposal,subject to <br /> Ramsey County Sheriffs Dept. approval. <br /> Compliance with the Sheriffs Crime Free Program including security plan and <br /> closed circuit tv/taped system is acceptable. <br /> Subd. 3 Lighting Plan Component.
