ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—AUGUST 13, 2012 2 <br /> also noted that the closure of Old Highway 10 to remove the 1-694 bridge went well and was <br /> completed last week. <br /> Assistant City Engineer Anderson stated that westbound 1-694 will close overnight beginning at <br /> 8:00 p.m. on August 15 and remain closed until 5:00 a.m. on August 16 to shift traffic. Eastbound <br /> I-694 will close overnight from 8:00 p.m. on August 16 until 5:00 a.m. on August 17 to move <br /> traffic on to a bypass. He also noted that the County Road F and Hamline Avenue intersection <br /> work is planned for October and should be completed in 30 days. <br /> Councilmember Tamble questioned the parameters of the 1-694 closure. <br /> Assistant City Engineer Anderson stated that he was unsure of the exact boundaries at this time, <br /> but he is sure that the actual closure will be smaller than what the detour will be. <br /> Assistant City Engineer Anderson indicated that north and southbound Snelling Avenue and <br /> Hamline Avenue is scheduled to open to traffic in late November. The TH10 bridges over I-35W <br /> are scheduled to be completed in early November. He noted that southbound TH10 south of <br /> County Road 96 will be open to traffic over the winter, and the TH10 and County Road 96 <br /> interchange is slated to begin construction in the spring of 2013. <br /> Councilmember Werner inquired if there will be changes to the condition of the road on <br /> Highway 10. <br /> Assistant City Engineer Anderson noted that the surface of the road will be redone next year. <br /> B. Celebrating Arden Hills Fall Festival Update <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Olson updated the Council on Celebrating Arden Hills. She <br /> noted that the Bethel University Band will kick off the event at 3:00 p.m. on September 15. <br /> Events will be held at Tony Schmidt Regional Park at 3500 Lake Johanna Boulevard and include <br /> rock wall climbing, a bungee trampoline, hay rides, Fire Department water activity, a moonwalk, <br /> pontoon rides, and community booths. She stated that there are new activities this year including <br /> a petting zoo, a strolling magician, D.J./karaoke, TCAAP (Twin City Army Ammunition Plant) <br /> tours, and community booth demos. Most activities offered are free of charge, with the exception <br /> of food concessions, the caricaturist, and photos from the photo booth. <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Olson noted that the community booth demos will take place <br /> from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. There will be giveaways and stamps will be distributed at the <br /> booths for a prize drawing at 6:45 p.m. for gift certificates and other prizes. She stated that <br /> fireworks will end the event at approximately 8:00 p.m. with music from the Shoreview Northern <br /> Lights Band. <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Olson stated that parking for the event is limited at the Tony <br /> Schmidt Regional Park, but the south side of Lake Johanna Boulevard (east of the park), and both <br /> sides of Country Road E (west of the park), will remain open for parking during the event. <br /> Additional parking is available at Perry Park and shuttles will run all day. <br />
