July 16, 2012 City Council Work Session <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Tamble moved and Mayor Grant seconded a motion to <br /> approve the July 9, 2012, City Council Work Session, and July 16, 2012 City <br /> Council Work Session Meeting minutes as presented. The motion carried <br /> unanimously (3-0). <br /> 5. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> A. Motion to Approve Consent Agenda Item - Claims and Payroll <br /> B. Motion to Approve Ramsey County Elections Contract for 2013 - 2016 <br /> C. Motion to Order Feasibility Study for 2013 PMP (was Item 8B) <br /> D. Motion to Adopt Ramsey County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan (was Item 8Q <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Tamble moved and Councilmember Werner seconded a <br /> motion to approve the Consent Calendar as amended and to authorize <br /> execution of all necessary documents contained therein. The motion carried <br /> unanimously (3-0). <br /> 6. PULLED CONSENT ITEMS <br /> None. <br /> 7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> None. <br /> 8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Resolution 2012-026: Supporting the Dedication and Designation of the Don <br /> Messerly Picnic Shelter at Valentine Park <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Olson stated that the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Committee <br /> (PTRC) recommended that the City Council adopt a Resolution supporting the dedication and <br /> designation of the new picnic shelter to be installed at Valentine Park as the Don Messerly Picnic <br /> Shelter. She noted that Don Messerly has been a long-standing resident and member of the <br /> PTRC. <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Olson noted that Don Messerly has dedicated countless hours <br /> of service to the betterment of the parks and trails of Arden Hills; he has served on the PTRC <br /> regularly since 1983; he was instrumental in obtaining donations for the park system through his <br /> volunteer service; he worked tirelessly to improve Valentine Park; and he initiated efforts to <br /> establish a prairie restoration project at Crepeau Nature Preserve. She stated that although the <br /> PTRC has not made a recommendation at this time regarding the type of plaque or sign that would <br />
