If for some reason the <br /> EOC is not usable at the time of a disaster, the Family Service Center will <br /> serve as the alternate EOC. <br /> The functions performed at the EOC will vary according to the type and <br /> scope of the disaster,by will generally involve: <br /> 7. Coordinating the city government response to the disaster <br /> (including coordinating with and supporting the on-scene <br /> commander if ICS is implemented). <br /> 8. Coordinating with any adjacent local government(s) affected by <br /> and/or responding to the disaster. <br /> 9. Coordinating with any county, state and/or federal agencies <br /> responding to the disaster. <br /> 10. Coordinating with any businesses/industries directly affected by <br /> and/or responding to the disaster. <br /> 11. Generating appropriate public information. <br /> 12. Coordinating and channeling the services of volunteers (specific <br /> task assignment to, and the management of volunteers will <br /> normally be provided by the applicable service chiefs). <br /> The Emergency Management Director is responsible for maintaining the <br /> operational readiness of the primary and alternate EOC's. This involves <br /> ensuring that the EOC has the necessary maps, displays, tables and chairs, <br /> message logs, etc. <br /> 81 <br />
