The estimated <br /> construction cost to rebuild these four lift stations is approximately$480,000 with the overall <br /> project cost including engineering and inspection of approximately $560,000. The project will <br /> include a base bid amount for two lift stations with the remaining two stations included as a bid <br /> alternate. The current estimate reflects 2006 construction costs which are anticipated to be <br /> significantly greater than 2005 costs. The Lift Station Reconstruction project is funded entirely <br /> under the Sanitary Sewer Enterprise Fund. <br /> Project Schedule <br /> A public bidding process will be required for this project. The schedule below for the 2006 <br /> Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project is based on an Authorization to Advertise for Bids on <br /> November 14, 2005. <br /> Advertisement Period November 23, 2005 —December 19, 2005 <br /> Bid Opening December 20, 2005 <br /> Award Contract January 9, 2006 <br /> Begin Construction January 16 2006 <br /> Complete Construction June 30, 2006 (sodding, restoration) <br /> Recommendation <br /> �`.. The City Engineer requests that the City Council authorize the Advertisement for Bids for the <br /> 2006 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The Council will have the opportunity to review the <br /> bids in January, 2006 and make a final decision as to whether to award the base bid for two lift <br /> stations,the base bid and bid alternate for four lift stations or reject all bids if the project costs <br /> are deemed too high. <br />
