ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—NOVEMBER I4, 2005 4 <br /> Mayor Aplikowski stated there was no second to the amendment, so they would be voting on the <br /> original motion. <br /> The motion carried unanimously(4-0). <br /> 7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> A. TCAAP Update <br /> Ms. Wolfe updated the Council on recent TCAAP developments. <br /> CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> Ms. Wolfe—Introduced Karen Barton as the new City Community Development Director. <br /> Councilmember Holden— Stated Norwest Youth and Family Services was having a fundraiser at <br /> Maplewood Mall this Sunday. She asked what happened with the water tower inspection. Ms. <br /> Wolfe responded the water tower inspection was scheduled for this Thursday. Councilmember <br /> Holden asked if they had decided what they were going to do about the warming house. Ms. <br /> Wolfe responded they had not made any decisions on this yet. <br /> Councilmember Grant — Stated he had attended the Planning Commission meeting last week. <br /> He updated the Council on the Planning Commission actions. <br /> Councilmember Larson — Stated Roger Aiken, Board Member of the Rice Creek Watershed <br /> District, inquired about applications for projects to be funded by Rice Creek Watershed District <br /> for stormwater treatment ponds. He asked if the City was aware of this. He indicated they had <br /> recently received a revised budget from the Fire Department and he requested Mr. Siddiqui to <br /> review this budget to ensure that the capital budget is being reflected properly. He stated in <br /> looking through some of the materials provided to Council, there was a statistical summary and <br /> noted auto theft had significantly increased in the City. He suggested the City publicize steps the <br /> citizens could take in regards to automobile theft, theft from automobile, and theft from garages. <br /> He stated for some time they have not had the benefit of Councilmember Rem's participation at <br /> City Council meetings for health reasons. He indicated she has been a very conscientious member <br /> of the Council, but he believed her absence was not good for the Council or the residents. He <br /> stated the Council should have a discussion with Councilmember Rem about how she sees her <br /> future participation in City government. He noted if she was unable to continue on the Council, <br /> they needed to take the appropriate steps. He requested this be added to a worksession agenda to <br /> address this. Mayor Aplikowski responded Councilmember Rem had requested some <br /> understanding through the month of December and this discussion would be on a future agenda as <br /> to how they would proceed to the next step if she was unable to continue being on the Council. <br /> Mayor Aplikowski — Stated Mr. Johnson was requesting a Council liaison to go over <br /> recommendations for Employee of the Year to attend a meeting on October 28, 29 or 30. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated she would be the liaison. Mayor Aplikowski stated Arden Hills <br /> was hosting the next meeting I-35W Corridor Coalition next Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at City <br />
