Goal 7 Review Police Contract and increase public awareness of public safety/crime <br />issues. <br />Priority: High <br />Year Initiated: 2011 <br /> <br />2012 Action Items <br /> <br />This ongoing assignment relates to managing the police budget and the delivery of <br />services. <br /> <br /> <br />Sheriff Bostrom was at the August 20, 2012, City Council work session for a general <br />discussion on services. <br /> <br /> <br />RCSD added animal control services in 2012. <br /> <br /> <br />The City Newsletter published RCSD related articles in the August/September and <br />November editions. <br /> <br /> <br />RCSD continues to work on better communications with the public through programs on <br />the website such as Code Red, online warrant search, and Neighborhood Watch (added 2 <br />new neighborhoods in Arden Hills in latter 2012). <br /> <br /> <br />RCSD continues to work cooperatively with City staff on enforcement of parking <br />regulations to better manage rental housing issues. <br /> <br /> <br />Staff attends monthly RCSD meeting and provides the City Council with updates by way <br />of the Admin Update reports. <br /> <br /> <br />On October 19, 2012, the City Council renewed the RCSD Agreement for Law <br />Enforcement Services. <br /> <br />Goal 8 Review Fire Joint Powers Agreement <br />Priority: Low <br />Year Initiated: 2014 <br /> <br />2012 Action Items <br /> <br />This ongoing issue relates to fire protection services and the budget. <br /> <br /> <br />The City Council representative on the LJFD Board and the City Administrator attend the <br />bimonthly LJFD meetings. Updates on these meetings are typically provided by the City <br />Council representative at City Council meetings and staff updates are provided in the <br />Admin Update report. <br /> <br /> <br />On December 17, 2012, the City Council adopted Resolution 2012-053 that extended the <br />Fire Protection Service Contract through 2018. <br />23 <br />Page of <br /> <br />
