MINUTES <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br /> • ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1996 <br /> 8:00 A.M. <br /> ARMY RESERVE CENTER <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8:04 a.m. <br /> 2. ROLL CALL <br /> Present were: Dan McCallum, Chair; Ray McGraw, Vice Chair; Jeanne <br /> Winiecki; Council Liaison, Beverly Aplikowski; and Kevin Ringwald, <br /> Community Development Director. <br /> Others present were: Tom Steele, Finance Committee Liaison and Julie <br /> Tostenson, Department Secretary. <br /> Absent were: Terry Nagle; Tom Andreason; Tom Goblirsch; Steve Freimuth; <br /> Ted Brausen; Arnold Lindberg; and Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator. <br /> • 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Minutes from the October 16, 1996 meeting were approved, following a motion <br /> made by Ray McGraw and seconded by Jeanne Winiecki. <br /> 4. BANNERS <br /> Staff presented the revised b_udget which provides for "off the rack" banners <br /> instead of the custom made banners and assumes that the use of a bucket truck <br /> will be donated. The revisions to the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter banners <br /> had a revised cost of$4,080.00 which would provide an estimated cost savings <br /> of$3,187.31. The Spring, Summer; Fall and Winter banners had a revised cost <br /> of$6,720.00 which provide for an estimated cost savings of$7,551.33. <br /> The Committee decided to check with a couple of organizations such as; NSP, <br /> North Suburban Cable; and U.S. West Communications, to see if they were <br /> willing to donate the use of a bucket truck on an annual basis. It was suggested <br /> to check with more businesses for possible donations towards the banners. <br /> 5. MARKETING BROCHURE <br /> • The EDC Committee reviewed the information to be provided on the interior of <br /> the marketing brochure. Chair McCallum and Staff will be working on updating <br /> the data in the brochure. <br />
