Central Region Experienced Economic Slowdown <br /> A sharp drop in new start-up and expansion jobs in the Central region produced the slowest <br /> job creation performance among the seven regions of the state. Manufacturing, retail trade and <br /> service industries continued to create new jobs, but at much slower pace compared to the <br /> previous quarter. <br /> A pick up in construction activity was a bright spot in this region with start-up jobs doubling <br /> from the previous quarter.
