legislature in 1986 enacted legislation(Chapter 458C of the Minnesota Statutes) which <br /> authorizes Cities to establish EDA's. The purpose behind establishing EDA's is to provide <br /> Cities greater flexibility in dealing with development issues. The EDA can lease,purchase, <br /> condemn, and sell real estate for the purpose of economic development within the City. The <br /> EDA will be a useful tool if property becomes available at TCAAP. Currently,the members of <br /> the EDA will consist of the City Council. <br />
