ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 28, 2013 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Grant <br /> then requested the Council recognize five City employees for their Years of <br />Service. He noted Meagan Beekman, Sonja Klingberg and Sue Iverson have all been with the <br />City for five years. Pang Silseth has been with the City for 10 years and Dave Scherbel has been <br />with the City for 15 years. <br /> <br /> <br />B. NYFS Presentation <br /> <br />Jerry Hromatka <br />, Northwest Youth and Family Services (NYFS), thanked the Council for their <br />time this evening. He provided a summary of services provided by NYFS to the City of Arden <br />Hills. He discussed the three main program areas of NYFS as being mental health services, youth <br />development, and day treatment programs. Mr. Hromatka reviewed the finances and highlights <br />from 2012, stating corporate partnerships and social media were at the forefront. He explained <br />NYFS focused on 5-21 year olds and noted 4,500 youth, families and individuals were served on <br />a yearly basis. He thanked the Council for their continued support and stated that he looked <br />forward to working together in 2013. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden <br /> requested Miriam Ward introduce herself to the Council. <br /> <br />Miriam Ward <br />, Arden Hills representative to Northwest Youth and Family Services, introduced <br />herself to the Council stating she has served in this role for the past six months. She announced <br />that she is thrilled to be a part of this organization. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant <br /> thanked Mr. Hromatka for his presentation and commended him on the leadership <br />he provides to this organization. <br /> <br />3. STAFF COMMENTS <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A. TCAAP Update <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br />stated the TCAAP project continues to build <br />momentum. She noted City staff is meeting now on a weekly basis with Ramsey County to <br />discuss projectissues such as the permitting process and utility planning. Staff discussed the <br />demolition and cleanup work that would be completed by Bolander. She anticipates the closing <br />on this property will occur in April 2013. <br /> <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br /> <br />A. November 19, 2012, Work Session <br /> <br />B. December 10, 2012, Work Session <br /> <br />th <br />Councilmember Holden <br /> requested a minor change to the top of page four of the November 19 <br />d return to the JPA discussion after <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br />motion to approve the November 19, 2012, Work Session Meeting minutes as <br />amended, and the December 10, 2012, Work Session Meeting minutes as <br />presented. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />
