The motion carried <br />unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />6. PULLED CONSENT ITEMS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Proposals for Engineering Services South Water Tower Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer <br />stated that in 2012, both o <br />inspected; inside and outside. The recommendation based on the inspections is for the South <br />Water Tower to be completely rehabilitated inside and out within the next two years. This project <br />was programmed in the 2013 CIP at an estimated cost of $900,000. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer <br />indicated this project required specialized engineering and <br />inspection services. For this reason, Staff requested proposals from three engineering firms. All <br />three responded to the request with proposals that reflected an understanding of the project and a <br />team capable of completing the work. He recommended the Council enter into a contract with <br />Bolton & Menk for the engineering and inspection services work for the South Water Tower. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br />motion to authorize entering into a contract with Bolton & Menk for the <br />engineering and inspection services for the South Water Tower Rehabilitation <br />Project on an hourly basis not to exceed $48,800. The motion carried (5-0). <br /> <br /> B. US 10/Highway 96 Agreements <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer <br />stated that MnDOT and Ramsey County are working <br />cooperatively to complete the grade separation of the intersection of US Highway 10 and <br />Highway 96. Ramsey County will be funding the entire construction cost while MnDOT has <br />completed the design and will be providing bidding and construction services. Staff anticipates <br />thth <br />that the project would be bid on February 8 with construction beginning on March 25. <br /> <br />
