<br />Bid Results <br /> <br />Bids were opened last Tuesday morning. There were a total of five bids received. The bids <br />ranged from $723,366.70 to $910,190.00. <br />their total bid: <br /> <br />North Valley, Inc $723,366.70 <br />T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc $726,966.97 <br />Hardrives, Inc. $756,010.84 <br />Omann Brothers Paving, Inc $767,587.69 <br />Midwest Asphalt Corp. $910,190.00 <br /> <br />The lowest bid was submitted by North Valley, Inc., who has successfully completed similar <br />projects in the past. When the 2013 PMP gets to that point, staff will be recommending award of <br />the project to North Valley, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />Financial <br /> <br />To establish a total project cost for the improvements, engineering and overhead costs need to be <br />included. The non-assessable items have 24% added for engineering (20%, and contingency <br />4%). The assessable portion, for the street improvements, includes 37% overhead, which <br />includes <br /> <br /> City Administration 2.5% <br /> Design Engineering 10.0% <br /> Construction Engineering 10.0% <br /> Legal 2.0% <br /> <br /> Fiscal 3.0% <br /> <br /> Interest During Construction 4.5% <br /> Assessment Roll Preparation 1.0% <br /> Contingencies 4.0% <br /> TOTAL 37.0% <br /> <br />ed through the Capital Improvement <br />Program (CIP) and are scheduled to come from the Permanent Improvement Revolving (PIR) <br />Fund and Utility Enterprise Fund (sanitary sewer, water and surface water). <br /> <br />The project is proposed to be assessed according to the Cit <br />that 50% of the total (construction and overhead) cost for the street improvements will be <br />assessed to the benefitted properties.
