Music <br /> - A strolling band with 3-4 musicians can provide a large <br />($500-$750) <br />variety of music and are able to perform WITHOUT electricity. Staff has a <br />couple of different bands that have performed for open houses/grand <br />openings/picnics that would work well with our event. <br /> Ribbon Cutting <br /> Similar to the Elmer L. Andersen Memorial Trail <br />(minimal cost) <br />and Safe Routes to School Ribbon Cuttings, this would include a speech from the <br />Mayor and or Council Members regarding the new park, followed by cutting a <br />ribbon to celebrate the new park. <br /> <br /> Picnic Shelter Dedication <br />The PTRC has been working on <br />($750-$1,500) <br />wording for a plaque and logistics on placement within the picnic shelter. The <br />Mayor, Council and PTRC representative can present and unveil the plaque with <br />Don Messerly and his family part of the presentation. <br />Resident/Attendee Mailing <br />Postage for a mailing to the Valentine <br /> <br />($100.00) <br />Park neighbors. Other important contributors (contractor, engineering <br />invitation for the Safe Routes to School Grand Opening is included for review <br />(Attachment A). Staff utilized the Arden Hills stationary. Staff anticipates <br />creating a similar invitation for this event. The Re-Grand Opening would also <br />be posted on the website for all residents to see. <br /> <br /> <br />SAMPLE AGENDA: <br /> <br />Official date and time TBD <br /> <br /> 6:00-6:30 p.m. - Welcome and Social (music, mingling, visit park amenities) <br /> 6:30-7:00 p.m. - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Picnic Shelter Dedication <br /> 7:00-7:45 p.m. - Ice Cream Social (music, ice cream, visit park amenities, activities) <br /> <br />BUDGET FOR ABOVE EVENT: $1,450-$2,950 <br /> <br />OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES: <br /> <br /> <br />Caricaturist ($100-$200, 1-2 hours) <br /> <br />Face Painter ($60-$120, 1-2 hours) <br /> <br />Strolling Clown or Magician ($200-$450, 1-2 hours) <br /> <br />Inflatable ($200 - $800 Depending on size) <br /> <br />Rock Climbing Wall ($900 4 hours (must pay for minimum of 4 hours)) <br /> <br />Free Giveaways ($1.00-$3.00 per item, depending on selection) commemorating the <br />Re-Grand Opening (examples: Printed pens, koosh balls, desk weights, pencils, <br /> <br /> <br />Basketball Shooting, lawn games, small games ($100-$300 for prizes dependent on <br />number of estimated people).
