ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—MAY 13, 2013 12 <br /> The motion carried (3-2) (McClung and Holden opposed). <br /> 10. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember McClung reminded staff and Council that he will be out of the country May 14th <br /> through June 1St <br /> Councilmember Werner welcomed Steve Heikkila to the EDC. <br /> Councilmember Holden requested staff provide the Council with Steve Heikkila's application as <br /> it provides the Council with valuable background information. <br /> Councilmember Holden thanked the Public Works department for their dedication and service to <br /> the City of Arden Hills and its residents. <br /> Councilmember Holmes expressed her appreciation to the Public Works department as well. <br /> She questioned when work on Lake Valentine Park will be completed. <br /> Public Works Director Maurer anticipates the contractor's work to be completed by mid-June, <br /> at which time the playground equipment will be installed and landscaping work will be completed <br /> by the Public Works staff. He stated that the park should be fully complete by the end of June. <br /> Mayor Grant discussed the State of the City date and time noting the EDC recommended the <br /> event be held from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. He indicated the Council is in no way trying to keep the <br /> public away from this meeting, but are simply following the recommendation of the EDC. The <br /> EDC is hoping to encourage local business owners to attend. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated that only 12 residents attended the last resident-focused State of <br /> the City meeting. <br /> Mayor Grant explained that the City is not in charge of the Bolander contract. He commented <br /> that the County is managing the remediation efforts. He indicated that the public engagement <br /> process for the master planning process is being defined by Kimley-Horn. <br /> Mayor Grant thanked the Public Works Department for their dedicated service to the City. <br /> ADJOURN <br /> MOTION: Mayor Grant moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a motion to <br /> adiourn to a work session. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> Mayor Grant adjourned the regular City Council meeting at 8:55 m. <br /> Patrick Klaers David Grant <br /> City Administrator Mayor <br />
