NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: <br />May 13, 2013 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: <br /> Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: <br />Matthew Bachler, Community Development Intern <br /> <br />SUBJECT:Planning Case #13-006 <br /> <br /> Applicant: Ramsey County <br />Property Location: Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant site <br />Request: Site Plan Review Sign Standard Adjustment <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Motion to approve Planning Case 13-006 for a Sign Standard Adjustment at the Twin Cities <br />Ammunition Plant site, based on the findings of fact and the submitted plans, as amended by the <br />two conditions in the May 13, 2013 report to the City Council. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Ramsey County is proposing to install four temporary freestanding signs each measuring 32 <br />square feet in total sign area on the TCAAP site owned by Ramsey County. <br /> <br />The real estate closing for the transfer of the TCAAP site from the U.S. Army to Ramsey County <br />was completed on April 15, 2013. Ramsey County has contracted Bolander and Sons Co. to <br />carry out demolition work and site remediation in order to prepare the site for future <br />development. These activities are scheduled to commence in May 2013 and take approximately <br />30 months. The proposed sign includes graphics and text that help explain to the public the <br />nature of the work being done on the site and how to obtain more information about the project. <br /> <br />The sign area for each sign would measure 8 feet wide by 4 feet tall, an area of 32 square feet. <br />The signs would be located in four separate locations around the site: <br /> <br /> <br />1.Highway 96 between Highway 10 and Snelling Avenue N. <br /> <br />2.Gate 4 on Highway 10 <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for May 13, 2013 <br />13 <br />Page of <br />
