MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty <br />satisfactorily and is proficient in the essential functions andknowledge, skill, and/or ability <br />required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with <br />disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br />, Public Administration or related <br />field. Minimum two (2) years experience in zoning administration, code <br />enforcement, comprehensive planning, architectural and site plan design <br />review. <br />or related field preferred. AICP desirable. <br />LANGUAGE SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to read and interpret documents such as state statutes, reports, policies, and <br />regulations, contracts, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare reports and <br />correspondence. Ability to give verbal presentations and speeches. Ability to <br />communicate effectively both orally and in writing with supervisors, City staff, elected and <br />appointed officials, legal counsel, builders, developers, other governmental agencies, and <br />the general public. <br />MATHEMATICAL SKILLS <br />Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. <br />Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Ability to use predetermined formulas <br />for land use calculations. Knowledge of elementary statistical calculations and principles. <br />Knowledge of basic geometry for survey evaluation and various land use controls. <br />OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES <br /> <br />Knowledge of computers and software applications including word processing, database, <br />spreadsheets, presentation and web authoring software. <br />Skill in the use and administration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). <br />Thorough knowledge of planning and zoning techniques and principles. <br />Effective problem solving and communication skills. <br />Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, developers, architects, <br />engineers, owners and the general public. <br />
