ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—JUNE 10, 2013 5 Public Works Director Maurer indicated that he anticipates that the relined pipes will last forever due to the fact that the pipes will now be plastic instead of clay. MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Werner seconded a motion to Adopt Resolution #2013-027, Awarding the 2013 Sanitary Sewer Lining base bid plus a portion of Alternate Bid B to SAK Construction LLC in the amount of$625,526.05. The motion carried (5-0). 10. COUNCIL COMMENTS Mayor Grant commented that earlier this evening, the Council appointed a new City Planner named Ryan Stref.. He welcomed Mr. Streff to the City of Arden Hills. Mayor Grant indicated that he received a letter from a gentleman in Texas thanking the Lake Johanna Fire Department and the City of Arden Hills for providing necessary emergency care to his son. Councilmember Werner stated he would be out of town next week and will not be attending the June 17`x' work session meeting. Councilmember Holden requested that staff provide an update to the Council on the Round Lake project at a future meeting. Councilmember Holden noted that Sand Companies has begun developing their apartment building. Councilmember Holden encouraged staff to speak with the business owners regarding their grass in the B-2 business district. Councilmember Holmes stated that in 2013, Legislation was approved whereby cities will not need to pay sales tax for city purchases beginning in 2014. Councilmember Holmes indicated that there would be a farewell celebration on June 18'h at Aldrich Arena for the 203`d Transportation Company. ADJOURN MOTION: Mayor Grant moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a motion to adiourn to a closed work session for the annual performance review of the City Administrator.
