<br /> <br />From a budget perspective, the replacement of these two mowers was tentatively scheduled for <br />2017. In the 2013 CIP there is an item at $100,000 for the replacement of the 2000 Backhoe. <br />That replacement is not going to be requested this year or in the foreseeable future. This is due <br />to the fact that it is used less and less every year. More water main has been replaced in our most <br />prone water main break areas and with the amount of fiber optic lines and other underground <br />small utilities we are contracting out more of these excavations. <br /> <br />The potential of replacing these mowers this year was discussed with Finance Director Sue <br />Iverson. Given the value of the existing mowers as trade-ins (since they still have a warranty and <br />were purchased under retail market pricing) and the expected increase in the same model next <br />year due to emission regulations, she concurs that this issue should be discussed with the City <br />Council.
