AGENDA ITEM <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: September 16, 2013 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Gateway Signs <br /> <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />The City Council directed staff to investigate possible gateway signs at three locations: <br /> <br /> <br />County Road E2 and Cleveland Avenue <br /> <br />County Road D and Lexington Avenue <br /> <br />Highway 96 and Lexington Avenue <br /> <br />Attached is a map (Attachment A) that shows the three general locations that were reviewed. <br /> <br />In reviewing these three sites staff, consulted with Nick Tamble of LLG Gardens and Jay <br />Higgins of Fourth Dimension, both of whom were involved with the gateway sign and <br />landscaping recently installed at the triangle property. Both Nick and Jay are going to try to be <br /> <br /> <br />Also, for each of these sites staff reviewed the Ramsey County GIS map for ownership, <br />investigated the location of City water if irrigation is considered, and for the top two sites listed <br />above, called for Gopher One utility locations and created a map of the site using our handheld <br />GPS unit. <br /> <br />Staff is also trying to schedule a meeting with the Ramsey County R-O-W Permits person prior <br /> <br /> <br />13 <br />Page of <br /> <br />
