Attached is the following information for each of the three sites:

1.County Road E2 and Cleveland Avenue

Ramsey County GIS map (Attachment B)

Site map showing features (Attachment C)

Photo of southwest corner with gateway sign (Attachment D)

2.County Road D and Lexington Avenue

Ramsey County GIS map (Attachment E)

Site map showing features (Attachment F)

Photo of northwest corner (Attachment G)

3.Highway 96 and Lexington Avenue

Ramsey County GIS map (Attachment H)

Nick Tamble sketch plan (Attachment I)

The following is a general discussion about issues, timing, and estimated costs for the three sites:

A.County Road E2 and Cleveland Avenue

The sign size should be similar to the triangle property (10 ft. wide X 6 ft. high).

The sign placement on the southwest corner will likely have to be set back from the
corner to keep the site triangle clear for the motoring public.

The sign can be installed without a garden or other amenities because of the well kept
lawn area.

The sign should be lighted (both Nick and Jay feel this is important).

The sign should be set back from County Road E2 for a possible future sidewalk/trail
after the 35W bridge is rebuilt.

The cost of the sign with installation would be similar to the triangle property ($10,000-
$11,000). The cost of an electrical drop would need to be added to this amount.

A site on the north side of County Road E2 could be considered. It would have more of a
natural backdrop but could be placed closer to Cleveland/35W providing more visibility
of traffic exiting 35W.

B.County Road D and Lexington Avenue

A similar sized sign (10 ft. X 6 ft.) would work well.

The site would require additional landscaping and garden to provide a backdrop and a
visually pleasing site.

City water is right adjacent to the site so irrigation is possible.

Sign costs would be in the $10,000-$11,000 range. A garden, trees/bushes, sod and
irrigation could add another $8,000-$12,000.

23
Page of
