City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective August 26, 2003 <br /> <br />PROBATIONARY PERIOD <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills regards the probationary period as an in <br />examination process. During this period new employees are closel <br />whether or not they meet acceptable standards of performance. <br /> <br />The first six(6) months of employment shall be designated as the probationary period. <br />During this period employees are encouraged to discuss their pro <br />and become fully acquainted with job responsibilities. If the employee's work meets <br />established standards, they will become a regular employee at th <br />period. New employees judged incapable of learning and properly <br />this period may be terminated without stating a reason or cause,dance with law or <br />the applicable provisions of labor agreements. <br /> <br />Review. Near three (3) months prior to completion of the probationary period, the City <br />Administrator and/or Supervisor shall meet with the employee and informally discuss goals <br />and performance. Three weeks before six (6) months of employment, the City Administrator <br />and/or Supervisor shall meet with the employee to review the performance of a probationary <br />employee. If the employee is not to be continued beyond the end d, <br />the employee shall be so notifiedbefore the end of such period. <br /> <br />Credit for Benefits during Probationary Period. During the probationary period an <br />employee will receive paid holidays. After six (6) months of continuous service, a newly hired <br />probationary employee will be entitled to use Personal Time Off accrued from the date of <br />employment. This provision does not apply to employees serving a probationary period <br />following promotion. <br /> <br /> <br /> 10 <br />
