City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective August 26, 2003 <br /> <br /> <br />a. Provide any information to the City within three (3) working days upon <br />receiving results of the tests that could explain the positive t <br /> <br />b. Receive a copy of the test result report. <br /> <br />c. Retest the original sample at their own expense provided they in <br />City Administrator within five (5) working days after receiving notice of <br />the positive test result. <br /> <br />8. A positive test result, which has been confirmed indicating the <br />illegal drugs, alcohol, or non-prescription drugs, may result in termination, <br />subject to the following: <br /> <br />a. An employee who tests positive for the first time will be given <br />opportunity to participate in, at the employee's own expense, or <br />to coverage under the employee's benefit plan, a counseling or <br />rehabilitation program. <br /> <br />b. The employee may be discharged for any of the following reasons: <br /> <br />1) The employee tested positive on a previous occasion in a work- <br />related incident. <br /> <br />2) The employee refuses to participate in a chemical dependency or <br />rehabilitation program. <br /> <br />3) The employee fails to successfully complete chemical dependency <br />counseling or a rehabilitation program. <br /> <br />9. If an employee is called out for a City emergency and is suspect <br />under the influence of drugs or alcohol, he or she will not be s <br />testing procedures of this policy. However, he or she will not be allowed to <br />work, and will be sent home. <br /> <br />10. Results of tests and other information acquired in the drug and -testing <br />process will be treated as private data on individuals as define <br />Subd. 12. The employee tested and the City Administrator will be t <br />results of the testing. If a positive result is confirmed, the C <br />employee's supervisor will be notified. Results will be disclose <br />outside of the City unless required by law or unless the employee requests <br />release of information in writing. <br /> <br /> <br /> 18 <br />
