Commercial vehicle saturations are used as <br />outreach opportunities to educate wood haulers <br />about invasive pests and quarantine regulations. <br />The following commercial vehicle saturations or <br />blitzes were conducted during the last couple <br />months. <br />Roadside blitz in Blaine (Anoka County): <br />o <br />Five tree care trucks were inspected. One <br />alleged quarantine violation was <br />discovered. The case is currently under <br />investigation. <br />Roadside blitz in St. Paul (Ramsey County): <br />o <br />Two tree care companies doing work in a <br />known infested area were inspected. Both <br />had ash in their vehicles and were going <br />to dispose of it at an approved receiving <br />facility. No violations were observed. <br />Roadside blitz in Lexington (Anoka <br />o <br />County): One vehicle was inspected. No <br />violations noted. <br />Roadside blitz in Blaine (Anoka County): <br />o <br />Five tree care companies were inspected. <br />No violations noted. <br />PUBLIC OUTREACH: <br />MDA Report <br />MDA staffed an exhibit hall in the <br />Ag/Hort building for the MN State <br />Fair Aug 22-Sep 2. PPD staff <br />worked every day of the fair <br />helping explain the new find in <br />Superior, WI and educating the <br />public on what signs of EAB to <br />look for on their trees.
