Mr. Ryan Streff
November 14, 2013
Page 2
4.Include the distance from the new addition to the property line on the site
plan.
Response: Drawing 1/A001 has been revised to show the requested
dimension.
5.Information on the noise pollution the new addition may or may not create
(dispels levels –increase/decrease).
Response:Boston Scientific has retained ESI Engineering as an acoustical
consultant for the project. ESI will perform the following tasks:
a.Measure existing conditions in order to document baseline noise
levels.
b.Analyze potential noise levels in context of the new equipment
and new construction.
c.Provide recommendations for how the new construction and
equipment installation can be designed to meet MPCA noise
requirements.
At this time, we expect that ESI’s detailed findings will be available for
review by Friday, November 22, 2013.
6.The types of landscaping/screening installed to mitigate the effects of this
industrial building from the residential neighborhood to the NW.
Response:Theunderlying zoning classification of the property is I-1Limited
Industrial. The proposed addition meets the building setback requirement of
50 feet. The point of the proposed addition nearest the property line is 63’-4”
away. Design of the addition will match the scale, materials and colors of the
existing building construction.
An existing landscaped area that includes mature coniferous and deciduous
trees lies between the building and the property line. An approximately 45’
wide landscaped walking trail area also buffers the Boston Scientific
property from residential lots.
7.Letter or email from Rice Creek Watershed detailing their needs if a permit is
required.
Response: An email from a plan reviewer at RCWD indicating that no permit
is required has been provided.
