As the Council is aware, the construction of these proposed improvements is planned for 2015 to <br />coincide with the MnDOT reconstruction of the bridge over TH 51. <br />recommendation that the Council accept the report and authorize Bolton and Menk to begin work <br />of the preparation of plans and specifications. This will allow work to proceed on more detailed <br />questions such as what will the new lights look like and where will they be placed; how many, <br />what variety and where will trees be planted; what existing sidewalks and driveways will be <br />repaired along with where will new sidewalks be placed; and maybe most important how will <br />customers continue to access businesses during construction. Also, in the schedule in the <br />Feasibility Report - <br />schedule a time to walk the corridor with 90% complete plans to answer specific business <br />owners questions before being invited to a Council Meeting for the Public Hearing/Assessment <br />Hearing. <br /> <br />Staff has asked Bolton and Menk to prepare a scope and budget to prepare plans and <br />specifications and to take the project through bidding and public/assessment hearings. That <br />scope of services and budget are attached.
