ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION February 5, 201417 <br /> <br />-family <br />dwelling units at the January 13, 2014, City Council Work Session. The Council directed staff to <br />make adjustments to the standards to increase the minimum floor space required for two- <br />bedroom and three-bedroom units, and to reduce the area requirement for efficiency units. Staff <br />is now working on an ordinance to amend the Zoning Code to reflect these changes. The <br />Planning Commission will review the proposed amendment prior to Council approval. <br /> <br />At the January 27, 2014, City Council meeting, the Council voted to approve (5-0) a sign <br />standard adjustment for Arden Village at 1290 County Road F, allowing the property additional <br />temporary leasing signage. The Council reviewed the proposed PUD Amendment at 1201 County <br />Road E and voted to deny (5-0) the application. The Council instructed the City Attorney to draft <br />findings of fact for the denial, which will be reviewed by the Council at the February 10, 2014, <br />meeting. The Planning Commission recommended approval of both of these cases at their <br />January 8, 2014, meeting. <br /> <br />The second TCAAP Open House for the Master Plan was held on Wednesday, January 22. The <br />Open House was well attended with approximately 100 people in attendance over the two hour <br />event. Display boards that illustrated how the Master Plan was developed were prepared and <br />shown to the public on different land use types and patterns, building types, and scales of <br />development. Discussion tables were also used to facilitate additional conversation about the <br />TCAAP Master Plan in order for the public to provide feedback and ask questions. She explained <br />the franchise fee could broaden the tax base. She reported the City has limited park improvement <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />B.Planning Commission Comments and Requests <br /> <br />Vice Chair Thompson <br /> noted the Planning Commission would be meeting in work session after <br />this meeting to discuss the 2014 Work Plan. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holewa <br /> asked if staff had an update on TCAAP. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br /> reported there was nothing new at this time. <br />nd <br />She stated an Open House was held on January 22 and the information gathered from this event <br />was being compiled and would be presented to the Commission at a future meeting. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Hames moved, seconded by Commissioner Bartel, to adjourn the February <br />5, 2014, Planning Commission Meeting at 8:57 p.m. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />
