March 31, 2014 <br />Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br />Michelle Olson, Parks and Recreation Manager <br />Perry Park Fencing Project for Field #3 <br />$22,000.00$17,615.00Capital Improvement Funds <br />PIR Fund <br />Motion to authorize staff to contract with Century Fence Company in the amount of $17,615.00 <br />for the materials and installation of fencing at Perry Park on field #3. <br />The 2014 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes $22,000 for materials and installation of <br />fencing on field #3 at Perry Park (Attachment A). Field #3 is the last field at Perry Park without <br />full sideline and outfield fencing. The field is short for an adult field (270 feet) and adding the <br />ten foot high outfield fence would keep more balls in play and would take the ground rule <br />keeping balls from <br />being hit into the temporary fence in left and also keep balls that are overthrown from third in <br />play versus going into the parking lot. The adult softball league has increased over the last few <br />years and having a nice facility with quality fields and fencing plays a factor in recruiting and <br />keeping teams in the league. <br />Four quotes were solicited for the Perry Park fencing project.
