CONSENT ITEM 5J <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: April 28, 2014 <br /> <br />TO:Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />SUBJECT:Consider Appointing Tina Kulzer to the Communications Committee <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The Communications Committee primary purpose is to write, edit, and produce the City <br />newsletter (10 issues/year). The committee can have up to five members, and it currently <br />only has two. <br /> <br />An application was received from Tina Kulzer, a new resident who is interested in <br />University of Minnesota and she offers a wide variety of volunteer experience. <br /> <br />Ms. Kulzer attended the last Communications Committee meeting where she was able to <br />meet the other members and participate in the newsletter editing process. Her evident <br />writing skills support the fact that she will be a valuable addition to the committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant asked that staff prepare a recommendation for the City Council to appoint <br />Ms. Kulzer to the Communications Committee. <br /> <br />Council Action Requested <br /> <br />City Council is requested to approve Resolution 2014-026 Appointing Tina Kulzer to the <br />Communications Committee for a Term Expiring December 31, 2016. <br /> <br />Attachment: <br /> <br />Attachment A: Resolution 2014-026 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
