the week ofOctober 27,2014.Following the interviews the committee will recommend a <br />preferred respondentto the City Council. <br />2.9Upon direction from the City Council, City staff will negotiate final terms of the Contract <br />with the top-ranked respondent.If negotiations with the preferred respondentare not <br />successful, the City may then initiate negotiations with second ranked respondent, and so <br />on. <br />2.10Once a draft Contract has been successfully negotiated, City staff will present a <br />recommended contract to the City Council. The City Council may then award the contract <br />and authorize staff to execute it. <br />2.11The new recycling contract will commence on March 2, 2015. <br />3.DEFINITIONS <br />Aluminum cans: <br />3.1Disposable containers fabricated primarily of aluminum, commonly <br />used for soda, beer, juice, water or other beverages. <br />American Metal Market (AMM): <br />3.2Industry publication containing prices for secondary <br />scrap metals. <br />Aseptic Packaging and Milk Cartons: <br />3.3Containers designed to maintain the sterility of a <br />sterile (aseptic) product such as food. (e.g. gable-top milk cartons, juice boxes and aseptic <br />packaging used for soup, broth, soy milk, etc.) <br />Carrier Stock: <br />3.4Paperboardcoated with resins to resist moisture and used for containers to <br />carry products such as beer, waterand soft drinks. <br />City’s Annual Recycling Public Education Flyer: <br />3.5TheContractor will be responsible <br />for providing an annual public education flyer to be sent to all residents that contains the <br />following recycling information: <br />List of materials to be included for recycling <br />List of materials excluded that cannot be recycled in the City’s program <br />How to prepare materials <br />Calendar of collection days <br />How to receive additional information about the program <br />The flyer shall be delivered to homes no later than January 31 of each year. <br />City of Arden Hills, Recycling RFP <br />October 2014 <br />Page 4 <br />
