<br />City of Arden Hills, Recycling RFP <br />October 2014 <br />Page 5 <br />3.6 City-Designated Recyclables, Or Recyclable Materials, Or Recyclables: The following <br />recyclable materials shall be the minimum list of recyclables to be collected and processed <br />by the Contractor: <br />♦ Aluminum and Steel cans; clean aluminum foil; <br />♦ Glass jars and bottles; <br />♦ Plastic food and beverage containers, pails, and trays with any of the resin <br />identification codes #1 through#7 (excluding black plastic and expanded <br />polystyrene); <br />♦ Aseptic packaging, <br />♦ Paper products including newspapers (including inserts); magazines; boxboard; <br />phone books; household office paper and mail; carrier stock boxboard; and <br />corrugated cardboard (including boxes for delivery and take out pizzas); and <br />♦ Clothes and linens. <br /> <br />3.7 Clothes and linens: Towels, sheets, blankets, curtains, tablecloths, rags, and clothes <br />including: belts, coats, hats, gloves, shoes and boots which are dry, clean and free of mold, <br />mildew and excessive stains. <br /> <br />3.8 Collection: The aggregation and transportation of recyclable materials from the place at <br />which they are generated; includes all activities up to the time when it is delivered to a <br />recycling facility. <br /> <br />3.9 Commodity: Any individual material, including specific industrial grade, as defined by <br />this RFP. <br /> <br />3.10 Contractor: The City’s recycling service Contractor under the new Contract beginning <br />operation on March 2, 2015. <br /> <br />3.11 Curbside: The area of public right of way between the property line and the curb or edge <br />of the street, but not on the street. This RFP may use the term “curbside” to imply alley <br />side collection. <br /> <br />3.12 Curbside Recycling Carts: Wheeled, lidded carts used as part of a single-stream <br />collection system. <br /> <br />3.13 Curbside Recycling Service: The recycling collection service, together with related <br />public education and other customer services, specified within this RFP (including the <br />draft Contract attached) utilizing curbside recycling pickup. <br />
