Structure Height – Meets Requirements The Zoning Code states that accessory structures in the R-1 District shall not exceed fifteen (15) feet or the height of the principal structure to which it is accessory, whichever is lower. The proposed structure constructed with a height of fourteen (14) feet would not exceed this requirement. E. Structure Size – Meets Requirements The Zoning Code states that accessory structures associated with residential uses shall not exceed seven hundred and twenty-eight (728) square feet in floor area. The proposed accessory structure constructed at 720 square feet in size would not exceed this requirement. F. Tree Preservation – Meets Requirements The proposed construction would impact four (4) evergreen trees on the property that total 26.8 caliper inches. The tree inventory that has been prepared by the property owner (Attachment D) shows that the lot has a total of 829 significant caliper inches. Based on the calculations from the tree inventory less than 10% (or 82.9 caliper inches) of the significant caliper inches will be removed with this project. If more than the 10% are removed as a result of the project, the applicant will be required to meet the City’s tree preservation standards, and mitigation may be necessary. 2.
