ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – AUGUST 11, 2014 6 <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated that she attended several Night to Unite parties and received a lot <br />of positive feedback, with some concerns being raised regarding the density on TCAAP. She <br />thanked the Police and Fire Departments for their participation at the Night to Unite events. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes reported that she also attended a number of Night to Unite events. She <br />appreciated the positive comments she received. She stated that on July 22nd the Council held an <br />appreciation picnic with staff to thank all committee and commission members for their public <br />service. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes indicated that there will be two State of the City meetings held this fall. <br />The first will be held on September 18th at Flaherty’s at 7:30 a.m. and the second will be held at <br />City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on September 23rd. She reported that the information provided at each <br />meeting would be the same. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant explained that he and Director of Finance and Administrative Services Iverson <br />attended a Cable TV Committee meeting this afternoon where discussion was focused on a <br />proposed revised Joint Power Agreement and the representation on the Cable Commission. The <br />final determination was that each City would be allowed to make their own appointments to the <br />Cable Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant discussed the Committee/Commission Appreciation Picnic and thanked staff for <br />making all of the arrangements. He was pleased with the turnout at the event. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant reported that he attended a number of Night to Unite events where he received <br />many questions regarding Lexington Station. Other discussions were held with residents <br />regarding traffic, local road improvement projects, along with the cleanup of TCAAP. He <br />thanked all residents who hosted an event for Night to Unite. <br /> <br />City Clerk Dietl encouraged all residents to participate in the primary election on August 12th. <br />Polls would be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. She reported that the City has three open seats <br />on the Council this fall, two Councilmember seats and the Mayoral seat. Those interested in <br />serving in this capacity may file an Affidavit of Candidacy until 5:00 p.m. on August 12th at City <br />Hall. It was noted that the general election is November 4th. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holden seconded a <br />motion to adjourn.
