r <br />EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT <br />0 OPI <br />THIS AGREEMENT is dated the 26b <br />day of April, 2010, and is entered into by and <br />between the CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, a Minnesota municipal corporation ("Employer"), and <br />Patrick D_Klaers("Employee"). <br />The parties agree as follows: <br />I-POSITION_ Employer agrees to employ Employee as its City <br />Administrator/Clerk. Employee agrees to serve as City Administrator/Clerk in accordance with <br />state statutes, City ordinances and the Code of Ethics of the International and Minnesota <br />City/County Management Associations, and to perform such other legally permissible and <br />proper duties and functions as the City Council shall from time to time assign_ <br />2.PENSION PLAN. Employer shall contribute to PERA as required by State law <br />for Employee or an alternate pension plan,if selected by Employee,authorized by State law. <br />3_COMMENCEMENT DATE. Employee shall begin his duties as City <br />Administrator/Clerk no later than May 3, 2010 but may, in the Employee's discretion begin <br />during the week of April 26,2010("Commencement Date"). <br />4.SALARY. Employer shall pay Employee a beginning salary of $103,301 per <br />year starting on the Commencement Date. Employee's beginning salary is equal to Step 5 on the <br />Employer's Pay Matrix,attached as Exhibit A- <br />5. PERFORMANCE REVIEW_ Employee's initial performance review shall be <br />conducted six (6) months (approximately) after the Commencement Date and thereafter on an <br />annual basis. If the Employee receives a favorable evaluation at the initial performance review, <br />Employee's salary shall be increased to a Step 6 level of compensation on EmpIoyer's Pay <br />Matrix. Performance evaluation shall be based on the Employee's ability to satisfactorily <br />perform the Essential Functions and the Supervisory Functions contained in the Position
