ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – MAY 11, 2015 2 <br /> <br />A. Rice Creek Commons (TCAAP) Update <br /> <br />City Administrator Klaers stated that the City Council continues to discuss the draft TCAAP <br />Redevelopment Plan (TRC). He noted that the Council held special work sessions on both May <br />2nd and May 4th. The TRC would be addressed again by the Council on May 18th. <br /> <br />B. Joint Development Authority Update <br /> <br />City Administrator Klaers stated that the TCAAP Joint Development Authority (JDA) meeting <br />scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2015, was cancelled. The JDA will meet next on June 1st. <br /> <br />C. Transportation Update <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer reported that the east side ramps of the County Road E bridge <br />are now open. The west side ramps will be closed now for the next 14 days. He explained that <br />the bridge beams will be set next Monday and Tuesday. The single lane status on Snelling <br />Avenue will continue for one more week. The bridge is scheduled to be complete on August 14th. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer stated that the County Road E improvements began on May 11th <br />and the inside lanes are closed. He discussed the work that will be conducted over the next two <br />weeks and it is anticipated that the project will take approximately 10-12 weeks. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer explained that MnDOT is rebidding the County Road F project. <br />The bids will be opened in early June with work anticipated to begin in mid-July. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer indicated that the I-35W/Highway 96 project has been awarded <br />and a preconstruction meeting will be held later this week. He noted that this intersection will be <br />closed for three weeks in the early phase of the work. This will assist in completing the project in <br />a timely manner, while also providing cost saving. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer reported that Round Lake Road is progressing nicely. The trail <br />is complete, all of the lights have been installed and only several pedestrian ramps are left to be <br />poured. He explained that the final paving will be completed by late May or early June. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer stated that the Lexington Avenue improvements from I-694 to <br />County Road F are being bid and work was scheduled to begin mid-July or early August. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer commented that work has begun on the City’s PMP project. <br />The contractor has mobilized and began work Wednesday of last week in the Grant and Noble <br />area. <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung expressed concern with how residents would be impacted by the <br />closing of the I-35W/Highway 96 intersection. He did not want to see the three week closure turn <br />into four or five. He requested that staff voice the City’s concern to the County. <br />
