ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – MAY 11, 2015 3 <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer understood this concern and reported that he would have <br />additional information for the Council on this project after the preconstruction meeting was held <br />later this week. <br /> <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />A. March 30, 2015, Regular City Council <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br />motion to approve the March 30, 2015, regular City Council meeting minutes <br />as presented. The motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />5. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />A. Motion to Approve Consent Agenda Item - Claims and Payroll <br />B. Motion to Approve Adoption of Resolution 2014-031 Recognizing National Public <br />Works Week <br />C. Motion for Approval of PUD Amendment Agreement and CUP Amendment <br />D. Motion to Approve Planning Case 14-013 Arden Plaza Final PUD – Phase 2 <br />Extension Request <br />E. Motion for Authorization to Appoint Public Works Seasonal Maintenance Worker <br /> F. Motion to Accept Public Works Maintenance Worker Resignation and Authorize <br />Advertisement for the Public Works Maintenance Worker Vacancy <br />G. Motion to Approve County Road E – Pine Tree Drive Improvements Payment 1 <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br />motion to approve the Consent Calendar as amended and to authorize <br />execution of all necessary documents contained therein. The motion carried <br />unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />6. PULLED CONSENT ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Authorization to Appoint Public Works Seasonal Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />Mayor Grant stated that he pulled this item from the Consent Calendar as the direction from staff <br />did not reflect the direction provided by the Personnel Committee. He believed that the option <br />recommended by staff was too open-ended. He understood that staff was in need of a seasonal <br />maintenance worker after the City received a resignation from one of its Public Works <br />Maintenance Workers. He recommended that the dates within the hire be more clearly defined to <br />ensure that the department is not over-staffed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes asked if the Personnel Committee did not support the hire of seasonal <br />maintenance worker. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant explained that Scott Freyberger has resigned his position with the City effective <br />July 2nd. This will be a reduction in the City’s Public Works force until a replacement is hired. <br />As a way to bridge this gap over the summer, staff requested the hire of a seasonal Public Works
