CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
4364 WEST ROUND LAKE ROAD
P ARDEN HILLS, MN 55112-5794
October 19, 2000
Hugh Bradley
3191 Lake Lane
Arden Hills, MN 55112
Dear Mr. Bradley:
Thank you for the letter regarding Lake Lane. I am very familiar with the situation, as
you know. It appears to me there may be two options to consider.
1. Have 100% of the property owners whose land abuts Lake Lane file a petition for the
improvement. This may be the quickest method; however, probably the most
difficult as affected owners may be assessed 100%of the costs according to the
City's Assessment Policy. The City Council may, at their discretion, establish a rate
other than the 100%rate.
2. Wait for the City to program the project in which case residents are typically
assessed 50% of the improvement costs.
One thing you may keep in mind is, the City is currently reevaluating their pavement
management program. It is the City's intent to draft a program, which identifies
proposed future street improvement projects for the next five (5) years. All of the streets
in your area have been rated in poor condition and are likely candidates for that program.
I realize this may seem like a long time to wait, but the savings to you could be
significant.
In the mean time, the more the City hears from residents wishing to have their
neighborhood streets improved, the easier it makes the City Council and the Staff's
decision to move ahead with a project.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at City Hall at(651) 633-5676.
Sinc ,
Dwayne Stafford
Public Works Director
City of Arden Hills
DFS:pjs
PHONE: (651) 633-5676 * FAX (651) 633-7839
