The city has expressed concerns about the water quality of Valentine Lake. Our records
show that County Road E2 drains to a low point about 1000 feet west of Old Highway
10. The water then travels northwesterly into the open space wetlands and on into Long
Lake. County Road E2 does not drain into Valentine Lake. While we are also interested
in water quality efforts, treating County Road E2 runoff would not have an effect on
Valentine Lake.
If the road is not recycled this year we wi11 have to conduct some kind to maintenance on
it which would be either a thin overlay (one inch) or a seal coat to hold the road together
until such time as it is recycled or reconstructed.
Ramsey County Public Works Department would like to move forward with the recycling
project. Please let me know by June ls`if the City would like to proceed with the recycle
project or wait until the road can be reconstructed.
Please call me at 482-5222 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
K
Kathy Jaschke
Assistant Maintenance Engineer
