Memorandum, 2001 Water Tower Maintenance <br /> Page Two <br /> May 6, 2001 <br /> The Engineer's Cost Estimate was $24, 200 for the base bid, $21,000 for Option A and <br /> $10, 000 for Option B. <br /> Recommendation <br /> AEC Engineering has reviewed the qualifications of the lowest bidder, and finds that <br /> Champion Coatings, Inc. meets the requirements of the Project Specifications. Based <br /> upon the above bids, AEC Engineering along with staff, recommends Champion <br /> Coatings, Inc. be awarded the contract for the cleaning,repairing and painting of the <br /> 500,000 gallon Hydropillar(North Tower) and ladder modifications on the 1.0 MMG <br /> Hydropillar(South Tower) at a cost not to exceed$24,800. Furthermore staff <br /> recommends that the City Council authorize Option A, the placing of the new City Logo <br /> on the North Tower at a cost not to exceed $13,675. The total overall cost of the 2001 <br /> water tower Maintenance project is $38,475. <br />
