Table <br /> <br />Chair Thompson opened the floor to Commissioner comments. <br /> <br />Jerry Roper, Caribou Coffee representative, thanked the Commission for considering his <br />request this evening. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hames asked if Caribou had any concerns with the seven conditions <br />recommended by staff. She questioned if Caribou was proposing any additional signage. <br /> <br />Mr. Roper reported that the new awning being installed would have no additional signage or <br />logos. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman appreciated the placement of the wrought iron fence. He inquired <br />if the drive-thru facility would reduce the need for parking spaces. <br /> <br />Mr. Roper believed that the drive-thru would likely reduce the need for parking by <br />approximately 30%. <br /> <br />Chair Thompson questioned how the car stacking would be managed for the drive-thru. <br /> <br />Mr. Roper indicated that the drive-thru lane would allow for twelve cars to be stacked and noted <br />a reserved area would be maintained to allow for large drive-thru orders to be hand delivered to <br />the customer’s vehicle. <br /> <br />Paul Meyer, Paul Meyer Architects, commented that the Rice Creek Water District would not be <br />requiring a permit for the proposed PUD amendment. He requested that Condition #4 be <br />removed or amended. <br /> <br />Chair Thompson opened the public hearing at 8:26 p.m. <br /> <br />Chair Thompson invited anyone for or against the application to come forward and make <br />comment. <br /> <br />There being no comment Chair Thompson closed the public hearing at 8:27 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hames was pleased that Caribou Coffee would be adding a drive-thru. <br /> <br />Chair Thompson commended Caribou Coffee for addressing the pedestrian safety concerns on <br />their site. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hames moved and Commissioner Zimmerman seconded a motion to <br />recommend approval of Planning Case 15-012 for a Planned Unit Development (PUD) <br />Amendment for a drive-thru lane and pick-up window at 3673 Lexington Avenue North, <br />based on the findings of fact, submitted plans, and the seven (7) conditions, amending
