k
---AEN HILLS
MEMORANDUM
DATE: June 14, 2001
TO: Joe Lynch, City Administrator
FROM: Terrance Post, City Accountant
SUBJECT: 2002 Budget Discussion(Second with City Council)
At the June 18, 2001, Council Worksession, further discussion will take place on the 2002
budget agenda item. For presentation purposes, I intend to cover the following topics.
A. Distribute and discuss the 2002 Budget Planning calendar.
B. Preliminary 2002-2006 CIP items
1. Administration (timing of maintenance facility construction)
2. Public Works (PMP Project for 2002?)
3. Park (recommendations from strategic planning exercise)
C. Staff/Personnel Costs - The City Council has previously approved a staff
reorganization plan and authorized the 2001 expenditure of consultant fees to
create job descriptions for new positions, "repoint" City positions from a pay
equity compliance standpoint, and modify the pay plan accordingly. This
information is currently not available at this point in the budget planning process.
In addition, preliminary changes have been discussed for the City's Personnel
Policy. These changes may have financial consequences in either 2001 or 2002.
