He stated
that he thought the strategic plan was well-received by the Council. The Council acknowledged
it was a great deal of information and referred it to a work session for further discussion.
Jim Paulet attended the presentation and stated that he thought Bruce did a great job presenting it
to the Council.
Bruce asked the commission if there was anything they would like to see emphasized or de-
emphasized at the October 30 work session with Council. Jim Paulet said he thought the
citizen's view of the plan should be emphasized. Mayor Aplikowski stated that she thought
adding a full-time person at this point was too much.
Karen Barton noted that we would need to add staff to assist the Community Development
department to back-fill for added TCAAP duties, and could roll the economic development
assistance into that position as well.
Business Outreach and Retention
Chair Kunkel stated that the business luncheon would be held at 1212 Red Fox Road and hosted
by Westwood Engineering and Bethel University. An invitation would need to be prepared and
mailed out in the next week.
Dale Beane suggested mailing the invitations and then going door-to-door just before the event.
Mayor Aplikowski asked what the purpose of the luncheon was. Dale Beane stated that we had
yet to set an agenda.
Mayor Aplikowski indicated that she preferred a letter stating we want their opinion.
