Chair Kunkel asked if this group should suggest priority locations for the signs. The Mayor said <br /> yes. <br /> Karen Barton noted that the previous signs proposed were very expensive and thought that we <br /> could get nice quality signs for less. <br /> Dale Beane indicated that he thought the more major entries to the City should have the larger <br /> signs. <br /> Chris Ashbach inquired about freeway signs. <br /> Chair Kunkel asked if the census population data included Bethel students and asked what the <br /> objective of the signs was. <br /> Ed Werner asked who did our park signs and how much did they cost. Mayor Aplikowski said <br /> Derrick Hames did and they were approximately$5000 each. She suggested the commission <br /> come up with locations then have a joint meeting with the Planning Commission to discuss size, <br /> cost, style. <br /> Kevin Kelly suggested a sign be placed on South Snelling at 694 exit. Bruce Kunkel suggested <br /> County Road E and Lexington. The Mayor added that Dan Flaherty had offered in the past to <br /> put up an Arden Hills sign on the exit from Snelling to C, if he could have his name on it too. <br /> Jim Paulet asked if gateway signs are typically placed on the perimeter of a city or on the interior <br /> and asked about the North end of town. <br /> Bruce Kunkel agreed that that area also needs to be identified as part of Arden Hills and <br /> suggested we prioritize these at the next meeting. <br /> The Mayor added a sign should be included at Lexington and 96. <br /> Chair Kunkel would like to make it a goal of this commission to have gateway signs up in the <br /> coming year. <br /> Karen Barton Gave a quick TCAAP update. <br /> Ray McGraw suggested the name"Meadowland Acres" for the TCAAP property. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 8:50 am.
