11 <br />11 <br />11 <br />11 <br />t <br />Page three <br />The Second Regular School Board Meeting, continued <br />"scope of his responsibility and authority" when he removed the student as editor-in-chief of the <br />Mounds View Viewer and the appeal was denied. <br />Richard Clague was authorized by the Board to go: to Washington, D.C. on April 4th and 5th to <br />attend meetings primarily concerned with Title I and III funding and related issues. <br />The Board commended the MVHS basketball team as conference champion and for their consolation <br />title in Class AA. <br />A report was given on the progress of the data processing shop and the value of in-service computer <br />ed, and instruction. Len Munson stated that there was a great potential for the use of this service in <br />such areas as the IGE program, the restructuring of the Edgewood program and the establishment of <br />programs at the new Chippewa Jinior High. <br />The first regular school board meeting scheduled for April 9 was postponed until April 16 at MVHS. <br />1973 SCHOOL ELECTION DATES <br />Tuesday, April 24 Last day to file for school board <br />Monday, April 30 Last day to set election precinct boundaries, <br />polling places and appointment of election <br />judges. <br />Monday, May 14 Last day for absentee ballot <br />Tuesday, May 15 Annual School Election Day <br />Planning Commission Meeting - 3 Apri 1 1973 <br />W. Harmer Reporter <br />A Public Hearing concerning a special use permit (Case No. 73-10) for Presbyterian Homes to construct <br />a fence -type sound barrier met generally with the approval of nearby neighbors who are plagued by noise <br />from an air-conditioning water tower. If successful, the same neighbors will benefit from the construction <br />of the fence which is to be constructed analogously to sound barriers near interstate highways in residential <br />sections. The Planning Commission recommended that the Council approve the permit to construct the <br />proposed sound wall. <br />In another Public Hearing the commission was considering the rezoning request (Case No. 73-71) by <br />Mr. Lindemer, owner of Lindey's Steak House. He requested that his property at the NE corner of County <br />Road E and Snelling Avenue be rezoned from R-1 to R -B. Other than Mr. Lindemer, those present (mostly <br />residents living near Lindey's) who spoke were opposed to the rezoning. The main opinion was that this <br />could set a precedent for further rezoning elsewhere (or nearby) in the village. After the hearing, the <br />Planning Commission recommended that the Council not approve the rezoning. <br />The third Public Hearing concerned the request by C. G. Rein Co. for a special use permit (Case No. 73-3) <br />for a planned unit development. This project involves the construction of an office complex of three <br />
