Page four. <br />Village Council Meeting 14 January 1974 - continued <br />Issuance of a building permit for the I. C. Systems office building was approved. This building will be <br />south of County Road E and on the west side of Lexington Avenue. ' <br />A questionnaire concerning surface water regulations on village lakes has been sent to village residents <br />along with their January utility billing. The completed questionnaires are to be returned to the village ' <br />hall. <br />Our village is cooperating in a Route Ridership Improvement Program which intends to develop more and <br />better public transportation in suburban areas. <br />A letter from the Chief of the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department to Bethel College concerning code , <br />violations and/or safety or service problem difficulties was referred to two village committees and the <br />Building Inspector. <br />as presented r <br />Sp gCompany in stead hresented to the Village Finance Committee a bond refinancing proposal that has , <br />interesting possibilities. <br />FourP <br />peo le have been hired to give instruction during the winter months in these sports: women's volleyball,' <br />men's volleyball, youth figure skating, and cross country skiing. <br />Consideration is being given by the village to purchase about 1/2 acre of the Moss property on the west side , <br />of Ingerson Park. A second real estate appraisal will be obtained. <br />Richard Ericson has been appointed 1974 chairman of the Human Rights Commission. r <br />The Human Rights Commission is currently reviewing federal legislation regarding the employer's role (our <br />village) in the hiring of a certain percentage of minority group employees. <br />Planning Commission Meeting - 17 January 1974 Dave Lacey, Reporter <br />Comprehensive Plan -The Planning Commission continues to meet trying to develop a total plan for village <br />telling where one can build, what types of housing, street plans, stop lights, what type of planting will be ' <br />used, etc. They are very concerned about aesthetics. It should be ready in another month if no hangups <br />develop. You should be able to check out a copy at the Village Hall and examine it before a public hearing <br />takes place on it. ' <br />Mass Transit - Planning Commission may take on project of putting together a recommendation for MTC for <br />bussing routes in the village. Jim Wingert has been working with MTC and general plan is pretty well set ' <br />at this time for MTC service around perimeter of village in the near future. <br />Lake Use - It is very possible that the Village Council may be establishing ordinances on how you can use the <br />lakes in Arden Hills. Again - if you like to snowmobile on lakes, if you like to waterski on lakes, or if you <br />adamantly oppose both on lakes, better get involved NOW.
